After 6 years of moving around, 12 houses I've lived in, and 3 years of blogging, I think it's time I finally began settling down.

In the last iteration of my blog (Fig+Bleu), I focused mostly on baking, giving very little into my life, other than a tangential story related to the food I wanted to cook. While I feel fortunate to have been able to create recipes for brands over the years, I now want to focus more on other aspects of my life: my fiancé, our dogs, our farm, chicken rearing, travel, and general musings that never really aligned themselves to my baking blog before.

And now for a little about me. Currently, I live in a little farm house on 5 acres of land that my partner, Nolan, and I bought last year. After spending 4 years in California, I still marvel at the expansiveness that even 5 acres affords us. We have three dogs, Murphy, Milo (pictured in my logo), and Elsa. They are the loves of my life. We also have ten chickens who keep us busy, laughing, and well-stocked in the egg department.

I've been many things in my life - an Honor Roll student, a law school drop-out, an aspiring poet, a timeshare salesman. I've been a bad son and a worse boyfriend. I've been a good parent and a pretty okay uncle. I'm a messy baker and an even worse apologizer. But I'm excited to share it all with you when the time feels right and that time is now.

Note: Fig+Bleu's content is archived above.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where do you live?
A: Pennsylvania, a little outside of Pittsburgh (but still a drive)

Q: What do you do for a living?
A: I'm lucky enough to work from home in a remote Marketing role.

Q: What kind of dog is (Murphy/Elsa/Milo)?
A:
We had all of their DNA tested and we were fascinated by the results. Murphy is Chihuahua, Chow, German Shepherd, and Cocker Spaniel. Elsa is German Shepherd, Chow, Swiss Shepherd, American Staffordshire Terrier, Sheltie, and Rough Collie. And Milo is Pug and Toy Poodle.

Q: What kind of chickens do you have?
A:
We bought our chickens from Tractor Supply and they are advertised as Easter Eggers, so they're a bit of a mixed bag, but mostly Ameraucana.
